Assemblies Committee: This committee works closely with the principal,
choosing quality and educational programs funded by the PTA for in school
assemblies.

After School Clubs: This committee would help organize, plan, and
oversee after school student programs being implemented by the PTA.

Bake
teacher conferences in November & during the winter and spring
concerts. You would be responsible for getting baked goods donated, pricing,
setting up and cleaning up and scheduling committee members to work.

Best Man Dance: This committee would organize a Best Man/Daughter Dance.
Responsibilities include paper work, decorations, tickets, and entertainment.

Beautification Committee: This committee will help plan, plant and
maintain the garden beds, flowers and trees on our school grounds.

Book Fair: This committee helps set up and break down the book
displays, helps students select books for parental approval during
their "browsing sessions", and helps find children's selections during
their "buying days". This is done during school hours. The committee also
helps during evening hours (one evening) for parental shopping.

Box Tops for Education: This program is sponsored by Betty Crocker & is
similar to General Mills Box Top Program. This committee needs to provide
a Box Top Collection Bin, collects the box tops, and sends in the Box Tops
for points/credit for our school.

Bubble Day: Collects money/orders and distributes bottles of bubbles to
the classrooms on Bubble Day. This is a fun day fundraiser for our
Scholarship Fund. This event is held in May.

Class Pictures Committee: This committee will help on picture day
and retake day to make sure the student's order forms and money are
handed in, their hair is neat and in place.

Clothing Drive Committee: This committee sets up a collection date,
collects donated items at the school on a Saturday, and helps load the truck.

Field Day Committee: This committee helps the students the day of the event.
The children are divided by grade level. The events are broken into stations.
This committee will be working along with the Physical Education teacher.

Food Drive: UGL will raise money for those UGL families who could use
some extra help around the holidays by holding a Pajama Day in November.
$2 will be collected from everyone that wears their pajamas to school.

Holiday Giving Tree Committee: This committee would be responsible to set up
an artificial evergreen tree in the lobby of the school, in early December.
Send out flyer in late November that inc. ornaments for the children to color
and send back to school with a $1.00 donation.

Ink Cartridge and Cell Phone Recycling Committee: This committee sets up a bin
for collection of empty laser & inkjet cartridges and cell phones, which earn points
for our PTA. The points can be redeemed for cash or name brand technology and
recreational products.

Peace Week: An anti-violence, anti-bullying weeklong program usually in
April which is coordinated by Marilyn Heinze. This committee would assist
her in getting items ready for distribution to the classrooms for the students.

Publicity Committee: School events such as assemblies, concerts, classroom
activities, parties, special guest speakers, etc. provide great photo Ops
for local newspapers and the Newsletter. Volunteers are needed to take
pictures, give a brief description of the event and submit to the paper.

kindergarten student’s basic safety rules. It is held during the summer at
Westbrook School. Volunteers are needed one evening in May to
register children @ Hillcrest.

Scholarship Committee: This committee would review applications of

Scholarship Award.

School Decorating Committee: This committee will decorate the school
entrance foyer for various seasons, holidays and special events.

School Store Committee: Responsible for running the school store which is
held 1st Thursday of each month during lunch periods.
This committee will be responsible for purchasing the items, establishing prices,
setting up & cleaning up the “store” and selling the items.

Sixth Grade Activities Committee: Run by sixth grade parent volunteers.

Ski/Snowboard Club: This club will arrange for UGL families to ski and
snowboard at Mount Peter beginning in January 2010 at discounted group
rates.

Variety Show: This committee organizes the event. They distribute
& collect the "acts" registration forms, preview the music, chaperone
dress rehearsals, and compile the music. The evening's
entertainment is provided by 4th, 5th and 6th grade participants, so if your
child were participating, wouldn't it be great to give them extra support by being
involved in this event! It will be held in February.
