Assemblies

Description:  

Finds and books school assemblies for the school year

 
Beautification
Chair:   Kristy Florey / Laurie Bush
Description:  

This committee helps plan, plant and maintain the garden beds, flowers and trees on our school grounds.

 
Best Man (Daddy-Daughter) Event
Chair:   Kristine Ralicki/ Cindy Delorenzo/ Kristy Florey
Description:  

Plans and organizes the event. Past events have included a dance or activity night or dinner.

 
Book Fair (fall/spring)
Chair:   Kristine Ralicki
Description:  

CO-CHAIR NEEDED

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help out during the book fair- to assist the children in picking out books for their wish lists. This committee organizes the book fair.  Set up and break down of the book displays, helps students select books for parental approval during their "Browsing sessions," helps find children's selections during their "buying days." 

 
Box Tops for Education

Description:  

Box Tops for Education is sponsored by General Mills. This committee will provide a collection bin, counts and send in the Box Tops for money for our school.

 
Bylaws / Standing Rules
Chair:   Committee to be selected Sept 2018
Description:  

This committee reviews the current Bylaws & Standing Rules and makes necessary changes which will then be voted on and approved.

Cherrydale Fall Catalog Fundraiser
Chair:   Shannon Henkel
Description:  

An authorized national distributor of Otis Spunkmeyer, Cherrydale-Entertainment.com cards, candy bars, chocolates and confections, and PizzaKit! Chair is responsible for distributing flyer, order form, organizing and submitting to vendor and then distributing products.

 
Class Parents

Clothing Drive (fall/spring)

Description:  

The committee sets up a collection date, collects donated items at the school on the designated Saturday and waits for truck pick-up.

Organizes volunteers to assist students in voting on Election Day. 

 
Family Portraits - Lightroom Studios

Coordinate dates with Lightroom Studios for Family Portraits. Creates and sends flyers out

 
Field Day

Description:  

This event is planned & run by the Physical Education teacher but many PTA volunteers are needed for set up, running the numerous games and clean-up.

Gertrude Hawk Chocolates Spring Fundraiser
Chair:   Shannon Henkel / Monica Church
Description:  

Available from January to the Easter season, the Spring Brochure Program offers over 80 delicious chocolate treats that make terrific gifts and basket fillers. Chair is responsible for distributing flyer, order form, organizing and submitting to vendor and then distributing products.

 
Halloween Spooktacular
Chair:   CHAIRS NEEDED
Description:  

This committee plans a night of fun with games, photos and treats. Donations of bottled water, soda, snack size bags of chips, juice boxes/pouches and baked goods are collected. We ask that all volunteers wear costumes.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help set up, clean up, decorate, donate items for concession and help with game tables and work concession.

 
Hershey Park Fundraiser

Description:  

Chair organizes the sale of tickets to Hershey Park and sets up distribution of tickets sold.

 
Holiday Shoppe
Chair:   Jeanene Casella / Amanda Menier
Description:  

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED during the day to assist student shoppers with selecting items to purchase.
This committee helps students select inexpensive gifts for their families for the holidays. Merchandise would be set up on tables prior to the event which is held in December during school hours. 

We cannot accommodate little siblings at this event.

 
Kidstuff Coupon Book Fundraiser

Description:  

This committee organizes the sale of the coupon books and sets up the distribution of the books sold.

 
Membership

Person in charge of collecting PTA membership dues, distributing member cards and reporting to NJPTA.

 
Mother Son Event

Newsletter

In charge of creating and distributing the monthly PTA newsletter and calendar.  Any news that should be included in the newsletter should be sent to Chair by the 15th of the prior month.  (Oct inclusions are due by Sept 15).

Nominating Committee

The charge of the nominating committee is to recognize and recruit the most qualified people available for elected PTA positions.

Original Works Art Fundraiser

School Store

Description:  

This committee is responsible for running the school store which is held usually on the 1st Wednesday of each month during lunch periods.  They are also responsible for purchasing and selling merchandise, establishing prices, set up and clean up of the "store."

 
School Supply Kits

Description:  

Organize the sale of school supplies.  This sale takes place in the spring with supplies delivered to the school at the end of August.

Scooter Football Concession

Description:  

Volunteers NEEDED FOR THIS EVENT to work concession and spirit sales. Looking to assign half hour shifts so everyone can enjoy the game!

 
Sixth Grade Activities

Description:  

This committee is made up of 6th grade parent volunteers. They plan fundraisers to support the 6th grade activities as well as compile and complete the 6th grade yearbook.

Description:  

This committee is responsible for organizing ongoing sales of school clothing.  Can be available on Back to School night as well as run a sale in time for Christmas delivery.

 
Student Scholarship

Description:  

The PTA Board reviews the applications of graduating West Milford High School seniors who are alumnae of UGL school as potential recipients of the Albert E Pecci Memorial and Mrs. Lori Pointkowski Scholarship Awards.

Albert E Pecci was a long time Principal of UGL School who passed away and Mrs. Lori Pointkowski was a school teacher at UGL for 30 years and currently volunteers her time in the Nurse's office assisting Nurse Mary.

Field Day Water Balloon Sales contribute to this fund.

 
Talent Show

Description:  

Students in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades are eligible to participate. This committee organizes the event, distributes and collects the "acts" registration forms, previews & compiles the music, chaperones & schedules the dress rehearsal.

 
Teacher Appreciation
Chair:   Kristne Ralicki
Description:  

Organize Teacher Appreciation Week.  This usually includes a week of lunches for the teachers.  VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help with set up each day, cooking lunch, etc.

 
Teacher Holiday Luncheon
Chair:   Deana Wardlaw/ Danielle Rozon
Description:  

Organizes Holiday Luncheon for Teachers in December on the day of class Holiday parties. Luncheon occurs during student assembly.

Donations needed for baked goods, paper goods etc.

Description:  

After School Club- This committee helps plan, organize and oversee the 8 week PTA sponsored after school program for the 5th and 6th graders.

 

 
Website/Email Reminders

This committee maintains and updates the PTA Website.  Also sends out the weekly email reminders.
